Becoming a volunteer or advocate meaningfully engages youth and adults in furthering our mission. Volunteerism increases program productivity & efficiency, provides opportunities for social networking, creates opportunities for leadership, activism and skill building, as well as, raises money.
There are many ways you can contribute to help further advance our mission of empowerment & life enrichment.
Volunteering with Divine Global Empowerment can be an enjoyable experience as we offer a variety of outlets according to time commitment & skills. (i.e. Volunteer as a writer for DGE’s newsletter, clerical duties, property maintenance, Speaker, Food/Clothing program, etc.)
Teens & Young Adults (ages 13-17) can gain experience in non-profit work, youth empowerment, cultural competency, curriculum development, working with diverse/immigrant committees, community organizing and outreach.
High School and College Credits are available.
Lend us your expertise by joining a committee to help bring awareness or raise funds. Simply let us know your experience!
DGE does not distribute scholarship awards directly to students. Scholarships would be divided quarterly & given to the University’s financial aid office for the student. The Taryn L. Gordon Scholarships may be used to supplement benefits for the University. Students may use the scholarship to cover the costs of tuition, fees, books, room and board, computers, health insurance, general living expenses and other college related expenses. Your gift will encourage college students to continue on the road of helping others & contributing to the social purpose of society.
With our Life’s Lift Program, we are always seeking speakers to contribute to workshops on various topics and trainers who can assist with upcoming events and fundraisers such as marathons or other fun-filled, creative activities that drives the overall mission forward. If you or someone you know would like to become apart of this program through leading workshops, submitting content, or speaking at a local school, please contact us.
With the ever-increasing demands and expenses of our organization, in order to operate at our full potential, corporate sponsorship, grants, and a wide array of resources are continuously needed. If you or a company that you know, would like to join us in our efforts & receive a packet of information, please contact us today directly at:
I initially supported the DGE when it was DLW at DePaul. I would come to the concerts and I thought, “Wow, this is amazing.” After a few years the organization had become an official nonprofit. Whatever I could do to help, rather it was selling taffy apples, tickets, or assisting in toy drives, I’ve been there to lend my support. Being apart inspires me to pay it forward & always have a heart to serve.
I had a choice to do volunteer work with many organizations, but opted to assist with the fundraisers and events that DGE has hosted. I began coming as a student and to see the transformation over the years has been nothing short of awesome. I am so proud to be apart of such a wonderful organization.
I volunteered in the office working directly with Ms. Gordon for a little over two years. I can say that the time spent was very rewarding and definitely allowed for me to learn many abilities and skills along the way that I have been able to take into corporate.
