In September 2000, during Taryn’s college years at DePaul University, she began Divine Living Word (DLW) Campus Ministry. Aside from DLW, other services and extracurricular activities included being a member of the PreMed and Uniting Sisters Club, DePaul Gospel Choir Musician, Teacher’s Assistant for the Chairman of Psychology, volunteering at the local grammar school, serving as a Peer Minister for the Residence Halls, and the continued services as Musical Director, Songwriter and weekly traveling musician as both a lead drummer & keyboardist in the Midwest. Upon graduation, Taryn received the Outstanding Senior Leader’s Award, one of the highest honors given to a graduate at DePaul University. By June 2003, Taryn received her college diploma, obtaining a Bachelors of Arts in PreMed Psychology with a concentration in Human Development & minor in Biology.
Today, along with serving as Board Chair & President for both D.G.E. & W.I.N.G.S Domestic Violence Agency, Taryn LaRae owns and operates T.L. Consulting & Marketing Co.; a strategy consulting & marketing firm that assists small to mid-size businesses with growth strategies both offline & online. She holds additional investments in real estate, as well as, with her music catalog.
Since its inception, Larry Gordon has been a strong adviser, leading consultant, and key player for both D.G.E. and W.I.N.G.S. His persistence and tireless efforts, not only to strategically bring ideas to the table, but to actively engage in the responsibilities to oversee various task and initiatives completed has served as a tremendous driving force to the growth and sustainability of the organizations.
In addition, Mr. Gordon underwent additional training through the U.S. Dept of Housing & Urban Development (H.U.D.) to become certified in assisting with the continued expansion of both non-profits. Mr. Gordon has extensive knowledge with many areas of real estate and is the current co-owner of Gordon’s Property Investments Group.
Victor Osaque has been working with small to mid size companies handling all aspects of accounting, auditing, and financial management. With over 20 years of experience, his expertise and skills are directly tied to financial consulting and venture capitalism, as well as, working as a business broker, consulting, marketing and funding for small and midsize businesses, project funding for startups, expansion, real estate funding, non for profit management and consulting, and bookkeeping.
He currently owns and operates River Consulting & Marketing Corporation. Mr. Osaque has played an instrumental role in securing many of the real estate transactions and contracts for D.G.E. With one vision in mind, his efforts combined with those who work in the inner circles of D.G.E. has served as an invaluable staple to pushing the organization’s business model forward.
Zeolia Gordon has been a dedicated Board of Directors member since its initial inception in 2004. She brings to the table over 30 years of community service, volunteerism, and activism. In an effort to advance her knowledge for providing activism & change within the community, Mrs. Gordon holds two Bachelor’s Degrees in Business Administration & Counseling. She currently presides as Case Manager for Target Area Development’s Prison Re-Entry Program, where she helps men currently out of incarceration re-adapt to societal living. She has been active in lobbying for social justice through meetings and events in Springfield, Illinois, as well as, social coalitions through the Cease Fire Organization.
Mrs. Gordon has participated in fundraisers, given contributions both in-kind and cash donations, as well as, her knowledge & the benefit of her expertise in helping to bring programs into full operation for both D.G.E. & W.I.N.G.S. Moreover, in an effort to continue to support the organizations, Mrs. Gordon will serve as an Executive Counselor through WINGS’ organization.
Tiffani Walker currently serves as Secretary of DLW. She has creatively helped with fundraisers and events in the past with other organizations and charities, such as Catholic Charities, and other local organizations. Her empathy towards victim of domestic violence pushed her to reach out to assist DLW in bringing a level of awareness to the issue of domestic violence, as well as, furthering the goal of educating and awarding young people in their endeavors to actively participate in community service. She joined the Board of Directors in 2011 and has been a steady volunteer board member. Ms. Walker also works closely with our fundraising committees.
With over 35 years in law enforcement, Mr. McCloud has served on the Board of Directors for DLW since its initial inception. Before retiring, Mr. McCloud served as the Chief of Cook County Sherriff’s department for over 10 years. His duties included patrolling unincorporated areas of Cook County, as well as, assisting suburban police departments with police operations including, which were not limited to, detective and evidence services, narcotics interdiction, bomb detection and disposal, vice operations, gang crimes investigation and Hostage/Barricade/Terrorist incidents. Because law personnel is vital to stabilizing the infrastructure and safety of clients, Mr. McCloud’s expertise in law enforcement, as well as, his personal research for safety policies to be placed within DLW’s programs, has been crucial to executing our business model.
Stephanie has worked closely with Divine Living Word Ministry, Inc. since 2011. As a full time domestic violence advocate, Stephanie is also the Consultant & Trainer of 40 Hr Certified Domestic Violence Training Courses. She handles various duties at Family Rescue DV Agency and is accessible to offer and lend any support and guidance to D.L.W. She has worked directly with Family Rescue for over 15 years and has helped secure hundreds of thousands of dollars through grant writing, as well as, other fundraising initiatives. Stephanie has been more than willing to answer any questions regarding various phases of our organization’s development.
Ms. Harrison has worked closely with Divine Living Word since 2012 when she was referred to our organization. She has been an advisor and consultant with various aspects of our developmental phases. Making sure that our policies and procedures are in total compliance of federal, state, and local laws, Ms. Harrison is accessible at all times to direct and guide our organization in any and all business related manners. She brings over 15 years of working as social service case managers and director, as well as, other social service sectors.
Primarily Ms. White has been assisting in any and all public relations and media matter. As a volunteer, she has been dutiful in assisting with raising awareness not only to the mission of D.L.W., but of the organization itself. She is the co-Founder of G.L.A.R.E., a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that provides young girls between the ages of 5-16 with the self-developmental opportunities including life skill enhancement, leadership development, character building, educational and social development.
